Mood
Bittersweet

The Bradford pears are blooming. The world is unraveling. These two things are happening simultaneously and I refuse to pick a lane.

How is it already March? January dragged and flew at the same time - markets were slow, people still post-holiday, the cold biting harder than it had any right to. February blurred past in the background noise of a world that keeps confirming every terrible thing we half-believed but hoped wasn't true.

And yet. Spring is coming anyway. The tulips don't know we're exhausted. The longer days don't care about the news cycle. There's something almost offensive about how the seasons just keep going — and also something I keep coming back to when I can't figure out how to show up.

Everything we knew turned out to be a lie.
And somehow spring is still coming anyway.

That's the part that gets me. The audacity of tulips. The nerve of longer days. The world can be unraveling at the seams and the Bradford pears still bloom right on schedule, unbothered, chaotic, a little offensive, honestly. Maybe that's the energy we're taking into March — not toxic positivity, not despair, but something in between. Cautious hope. Controlled rebellion. Showing up anyway.

I started Lavender & Rage in 2020 because I needed somewhere to put all of it — the feelings, the fire, the stuff that didn't fit anywhere else. The Dispatch is that same impulse, just with more words. A place to check in, to think out loud, to share what's been on the table this month — music, markets, what I'm making, what I'm struggling through.

This is Volume One. It's been a long time coming. I'm glad you're here.
