Mood
Slow & Peculiar

January 2026 lasted approximately six months. I have the receipts.

I don't know how else to explain it. The days were short but the weeks were endless. I was still in post-holiday recovery mode — orders, inventory, the mental weight of Q4 that nobody talks about because you're supposed to be grateful for a good season. I was grateful. I was also exhausted in a bone-deep way that naps couldn't fix.

I did one market in January. One. Hops & Shops on a cold Sunday, which was exactly as low-key as I needed it to be. I showed up, set up my table, talked to people, sold some things, packed up and went home. It felt like proof of life more than anything else. Like I was telling myself: you're still here, you're still doing this.

Sometimes showing up once
is the whole achievement.

The Dispatch wasn't supposed to start in January. Nothing is supposed to start in January. But here we are — Vol. 0, a soft launch, a test run, a whisper before the voice finds itself. Thanks for being here before it was official.
